News

In this space you'll find info on recently completed projects that we're particularly proud of. It might be that we're proud we managed to get them done to such a ridiculous deadline or that we've used some new experimental printing process or even that we've just got away with something a bit different!

photo of winners certificate

Following on from our success in August (see below) we're proud to report that the Pssst! Be Alcohol Aware campaign has now won a further award. The campaign scooped top prize at the recent Communicating Health Awards held in Sheffield for most innovative Communications. Next month sees the next phase of the campaign and we have some great new resources ready to unleash in the run up to Christmas!

September 2007: AGM and Annual Reports

Annual Report images

Well, it's that time of year again. Liverpool Primary Care Trust likes to make a big impression with its Annual General Meetings and this year was no exception. The venue was FACT so we had a full size cinema to at our disposal, and the reports (shown above) went down very well indeed. We controlled the whole two hour event from a trusty Mac laptop with no hitches - the films, powerpoint presentations, handheld voting, audio and presentations thankfully went exactly as planned in front of an audience of 200 people.

August 2007: Pssst! Award

Pssst! award

The Pssst! Be alcohol aware campaign we devised and designed has been shortlisted for five awards. Two of these have already been announced and we were really pleased to collect two IPA bronze awards for the mass media alcohol awareness campaign and website which was developed with Mando in Liverpool. The design and mass media campaign has also been shortlisted for an HSJ Award and two AHC awards which will be announced in October, fingers crossed...

July 2007: Finally SmokeFree

England finally went smoke free on 1st July. The work that we did for SmokeFree Liverpool was at the forefront of driving this national legislation and we are very proud of all of the materials produced to date. To commemorate this historic date we were commissioned to design limited edition ceramic Superlambananas which were issued to VIPs and partners in the programme.

June 2007: SmokeFree Liverpool Airport

John Lennon Airport click for movie

March this year saw the completion of one of the most unusual, and certainly the largest, formats we have dealt with; a banner 1.5m high and almost 190m wide across the front of Liverpool John Lennon Airport for SmokeFree Liverpool (SFL). The installation is part of SFL's build-up to the 1 July, when practically all enclosed work and public places will become smokefree by law. Working with the now well-established SFL identity, the banner features adverbs relating to the idea that going smokefree is wanted, needed and workable.

March 2007: Liverpool Children and Young People's PlansChildren and Young People's Plan
These materials were produced with young people in mind. They contain information about issues specific to young people and detail what Liverpool First will be doing over the next few years to make lasting improvements to their lives. The accessible version utilises 'Widgit' iconography designed to make information more accessible for people with learning difficulties.

January 2007: January Sale!january sale campaign pictures

During January, Liverpool Primary Care Trust will be consolidating its four main public health campaigns around Alcohol, Activity, Smoking and Food with a media blitz! We have designed a raft of materials that take their design style from sale and bargain offer posters commonly seen in January. The aim is that in the new year people are more open to change as part of new year's resolutions so we are promoting websites for further info and using simple messages to engage the audience.

November 2006: Pssst! Be Alcohol Aware www.pssst.org.ukdrink mats
This campaign has steadily grown since its soft launch in August. We are now working on a huge range of campaigning and social marketing to help make people more alcohol aware. The Pssst! message is now out there in the form of a radio campaign, postcards, beermats, posters and even spoken audio panels in toilets! Click here to listen to the message that's going into the men's toilets!

October 2006: Big Health Debate www.bighealthdebate.info

The Big Health Debate logo and bus photo

The health of the people of Liverpool still lags behind the rest of the country. In order to improve health, and future health services the Big Health Debate has been launched in Liverpool to find out what local people want from the NHS. We were tasked with designing a brand and vast array of promotional ephemera to engage the target audience.

September 2006: World Wide Website

Map of the world showing where visiters to the site are

We’ve recently done some statistical background work on this website to see exactly who is using it. The site was primarily designed for people in the Liverpool area with one section that has resources for sale UK-wide so it came as quite a surprise to discover just how many international visitors we get on a regular basis. In the last few months we've had visitors from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Norway, Japan, Eritrea, Trinidad and Scunthorpe! In just three years we've exceeded 17,000 unique visitors.
