Love
and passion still in fashion (general awareness)
Whatever your culture, race or age, whether man, woman, gay,
bi or straight - its not who you are, but what you do
thats important in preventing the spread of HIV and other
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). The main ways of avoiding
HIV (the virus that can lead to AIDS) and other STIs is to practice
safer sex. Always use a condom for penetrative sex - vaginal,
anal and oral, and never share injecting equipment. Sexual Health

Take
care, no need to share (needles, piercing, tatooing)
Anything that pierces the skin and transfers blood from one
person to another is potentially risky for HIV, Hepatitis B
and C and other infections. Free injecting gear and condoms
are available at needle exchange schemes and some pharmacies.
Piercing and tattooing equipment is safe only when used by reputable
services with properly sterilised equipment - check that the
service is certified. Sexual Health Information Line - Freephone:

Value
yourself and your health (condom use)
Condoms are the most effective barrier against unwanted pregnancy
and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Without a condom,
Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Herpes and HIV can all be passed on through
penetrative sex (vaginal, anal and oral). Free condoms and advice
are available from sexual health clinics and your doctor or
practice nurse. Sexual Health Information Line - Freephone:

Stay
Safe (gay men)
HIV and many Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are on the
increase and sometimes there are no obvious symptoms. Stay safe
and use condoms for anal and oral sex. Having an STI can increase
the risk of contracting HIV and despite improvements in treatment,
there is still no cure. A quarter of new HIV cases are resistant
to current medical treatments and these cases are being seen
in young gay men as well as older men. Sexual Health Information
